Community Programs
Thiel College produces several community programs that benefit local children. College for Kids is an annual camp for elementary and junior high students that allows kids to get a “glimpse” of college life through a variety of courses that cover topics from magic to Spanish to computer programs! Kids and Chemistry and Girl Scouts Science Day are free annual events that allow local children to explore the wonders of science in the Thiel College labs through fun, hands-on activities. The College is proud to help inspire local children in pursuit of academic success.
From inception to the present...
In 1870, Thiel College moved from its original birthplace in Monaca, Pa. because Greenville so desired the school’s presence that it bid $10,000 in cash, five acres of land and the use of a large academy building. Since settling in the town, Thiel’s and Greenville’s growth and successes have been linked.
Today, Thiel is housed on 135 acres and has more than 22 academic and residential buildings. All told, the College’s buildings and grounds represent a multi-million-dollar investment in the community. Thiel College offers educational resources, cultural activities and superior facilities to those who work and live in the area surrounding its Greenville campus. |
