Unrestricted support is paramount in providing the college with the tools necessary to thrive. Each year, the Annual Fund strives to raise money for various campus needs. Updates to classrooms, improvements in residence halls and scholarships for students in need are the direct result of support to the Annual Fund. The new fiscal year began July 1, 2007 and ends June 30, 2008.

Gift Clubs

Does my gift make a difference?

Yes.  All gifts to the Annual Fund make a difference. Thiel College is committed to keeping the cost of a private education among the lowest in the country. But, because tuition only covers 64% of the costs to educate a student, private donations to the Annual Fund bridge the gap.

Giving to the Annual Fund boosts the college’s alumni participation rate, which is an important factor when determining rankings in magazines such as U.S. News and World Report. A high participation rate also helps position Thiel College to receive government, corporate and foundation support.

How can I make a gift?

There are many ways to make a gift to Thiel College. Thiel College accepts payments of cash, checks or securities or you can donate by credit and debit card at our secure Online Giving website.

Through our SIMPLY GIVING program, a payment deduction can be set up with your local financial institution to have payments made directly from your checking or savings account. Please e-mail Kelly Bailey, Director of Annual Giving, or call her at 724.589.2027 for more information on this program.

Make a Gift to the Annual Fund

Can I give a gift of securities?

Yes. Gifts of securities are welcome and can help your tax situation at the same time. To find out more about transferring stocks or bonds to Thiel College, please e-mail Mario Marini, Director of Special Gifts, or call him at 724.589.2022.

What about matching gifts?

If you are a member of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans they will match 50% of your contribution, up to $600, each year.  Visit the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans website for more information on this program.

Over 15,000 companies will match, or in some cases double or triple, an employee's contribution to Thiel College. Check with your HR specialist to find out if your company matches gifts. Companies with such programs will provide matching gift forms to complete and mail to the College.

Is my gift tax deductible?

Yes. For those who itemize their deductions, contributions to Thiel College are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Check with your financial consultant, tax attorney or accountant for tax advice pertaining to gifts to the Thiel College.
