In partnership with the Borough of Greenville, Thiel College has received $1,243,370 as a Recreational Challenge Grant from the state of Pennsylvania. A portion of these funds is being used for the construction of Baseball and Softball Fields. These dollars will assist with expenses, but the grant requires us to seek funding from other sources as a match.

Funds raised will be earmarked for the construction of baseball and softball fields, as well as an arts-related facility on the north side of campus. As with the construction of Alumni Stadium in 2001 for the football and soccer programs, we are confident that new facilities for men’s baseball and women’s softball will greatly enhance recruiting of student-athletes, fan support, and build further community awareness.

The fields are to be located on the west side of campus near the borough’s Riverside Park, as you will see on the coming pages displaying a map of that section of campus.

It is our plan to have the softball field ready for play in the spring of 2007, followed by the baseball field by fall 2007.  Please read on for ways that you too can partner with us, and perhaps leave yours, your family’s or organization’s name as a part of your legacy – either now or in the future.
