Student support services have been enhanced on campus with the launch of the Center for Learning and Advising (CLA). This new office provides academic and career guidance under one roof for all Thiel students.
The Haller Enterprise Institute encourages, promotes and supports entrepreneurship in Thiel students regardless of their choice of major. Students who start their own business while at Thiel can win a Haller Enterprise Award.
Thiel is a member of the Accounting Consortium, bringing top students together with Big Five accounting firms.
Thiel has a relationship with St. Paul Homes, a Greenville retirement community that offers a range of care from independent living to skilled nursing care. Students can complete internships in a variety of areas, work on course projects, complete service projects or just volunteer to serve the staff and residents.
Thiel is regularly ranked among the country's top liberal arts colleges in publications including U.S. News & World Report and the Princeton Review, among others.
Also in 2007, Thiel opened its new neuroscience laboratories that feature prominently in the new interdisciplinary neuroscience major. Thiel's budding scientists will be well-prepared for graduate school or entry-level jobs in service.
Cooperative programs at Thiel give our students the ability to broaden their minds through the liberal arts while learning the skills they need for a successful career through relationships with outside institutions. Cooperative programs exist in commercial art, binary engineering, cytotechnology, mortuary science, medical technology, forestry and environmental management and culinary business administration.
Founded in 1953, the Thiel College Choir tours the eastern United States and Canada during each spring break and tours internationally once every four years.
Thiel's student theater troupe, the Thiel Players, moved to their new home, the William A. Robinson Theater, in 2007. This new facility features flexible, state-of-the-art spaces for the teaching and performance of theater arts.
The Notebook Computer Initiative is a partnership with IBM that provides all new Thiel students with a laptop computer, giving our students a technological advantage and the ability to connect wirelessly from any academic building on campus.
Thiel's nationally ranked athletic teams include 19 intercollegiate sports, 17 of which are associated with Division III of the NCAA and the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC).
46 Thiel student-athletes had places on the PAC Academic Honor Roll during the 2007-08 year, with four student-athletes earning Academic All-American honors.
