Two ways to apply online:
1. Use the Thiel College online application (use Apply Now button below)
The application fee is waived when submitting your application online, but a $35 application processing fee is required if you print the PDF application and mail to our office.
2. Use The Common Application (use Common Application button below)
A complete application file for first-time college students will include:
1. Application for admission - Thiel online application or The Common Application
2. Official high school transcript
3. Official SAT or ACT scores
4. Personal essay (minimum 500 words)
5. At least one letter of recommendation
APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
Please complete Thiel's online application or The Common Application for admission. When you click "Submit Application" button, your completed application will be forwarded to the admissions office. A copy of the information you have provided will also be forwarded to your indicated email address. Please note the information in the security section.
OFFICIAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT

Please complete the transcript request form asking your high school principal or guidance counselor to send an official copy of your high school work directly to Thiel. Once you have completed the transcript request form, you can print the form, mail or deliver directly to your school.
OFFICIAL TEST SCORES
Scores from the SAT or ACT are required. Test scores are also used for further placement and advising, as well as determining merit awards.
PERSONAL ESSAY
Please select one topic and write an essay at a minimum of 500 words.
Available topics for your essay are:
1. Discuss a current social, political, environmental, spiritual, or other issue that is of importance to you.
2. Discuss an important person in your life, either real or fictional, and how that person impacted you.
3. Describe an experience in which you have succeeded and how your talents contributed to your success.
4. Describe your personal and professional goals and how attending college will help you achieve them.
Note: students may want to create their personal essays using a form of word processing software (Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, OpenOffice.org, Google Docs, etc.) and cut and paste essay into application.
LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION

Please have a guidance counselor, teacher, pastor, or someone with the ability to describe your work ethic and academic performance write a letter of recommendation on your behalf. Please use the provided letter of recommendation form.

Security
The information you provide will be sent encrypted over our secure server. If you are not comfortable providing the information requested over the Internet, please print out the application in its entirety and mail to Thiel at the following address:

Should you wish, you may fax your completed application to the Office of Admissions at 724-589-2013. The Common Application is also available in a printed version.
Notification of Acceptance
The admissions committee reviews applications each week after receipt of all required application materials, and students are then notified of its decision. Decisions are made on a rolling basis, meaning once all of the required documentation is completed and has been received, you will be notified of the admissions committee's decision within two weeks.
