Microsoft PowerPoint: Skipping the Basics - Erika Jones, instructional media specialist, showed attendees how to insert and manipulate photos in Microsoft PowerPoint. In addition, Jones demonstrated how to upload photos from a digital camera, then inserting them into PowerPoint.  Afterwards MIMC Director, Leslie Graul, explained how to insert sounds, hyperlinks, and video.  She also discussed packaging a presentation and the various features available in PowerPoint to customize presentations, such as kiosks, timing, etc.

Your Departmental Web Pages - Jamie Pinchot, math and computer science instructor, helped participants use Macromedia Contribute to edit existing web content, including images and other media files and publish them to the Thiel web site.

SMARTClassrooms - Leslie Graul explained how to use the existing equipment in our SMARTClassrooms and how to troubleshoot common problems.  In addition she demonstrated connecting an IBM ThinkPad and document camera to the classroom equipment.  Afterwards participants had the opportunity to get hands-on practice and ask questions about SMARTClassrooms.

SMARTBoards - Dean of Education Outreach, John Rindy, taught participants how to use a SMARTBoard and explained some of the nuances of SMARTNotebook software.

BlackBoard: Instructor Basics - Erika Jones showed instructors how to log in and navigate through BlackBoard. Those in attendance also learned how to post assignments, various documents, and announcements.  In addition, Jones demonstrated how to add/remove students, use the gradebook, and send e-mail.

Computerized Testing: Creating a quiz in BlackBoard - John Rindy explained how to identify the tools in the testing module, helped faculty and staff to understand different question types. By the end of the session, participants were able to create exams and quizzes in Blackboard.
