NO LONGER ACTIVE - Assistant Director of Financial Aid
Thiel College seeks an Assistant Director of Financial Aid to provide support for all functions of student financial aid programs. Reporting to the Executive Director of Student Financial Services, the Assistant will:
- Review financial aid submission forms for completeness and accuracy, and communicate with students and families regarding this information
- Meet with students and/or parents to assist with general guidance and specific financial aid issues
- Assist in preparing preliminary financial aid packages consistent with federal regulations and Thiel College policies
- Process and report state grant activity
- Supervise the student employment program, including federal work-study arrangements
- Coordinate the institutional endowed scholarship application process
- Assist in recording of state scholarship and/or loan programs, and in the preparation of Direct Student Loan applications
- Prepare and disseminate application materials, forms and student information related to financial aid
- Assist with functional supervision of the Student Loan Specialist, the Financial Aid Specialist, and student employees assigned to the department
Bachelor’s degree is required, along with 3 to 5 years financial aid experience. Proficiency in computerized systems, including PowerFAIDS experience, is preferred. Must have proven ability to maintain and analyze detailed data and records; must be highly organized, with excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact with students, parents and campus departments in a positive and supportive manner.
