Assistant professor of Political Science - The Department of Political Science at Thiel College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in American Politics beginning Fall 2008. Ph.D. preferred, but ABD’s nearing completion will be considered.

Area of specialization within the American subfield is open with the exception of Public Law.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a potential for excellence in both teaching and scholarship, and be prepared to teach a variety of introductory and advanced courses in American government and politics. Courses may include Introduction to American Politics; Congress and the Presidency; Elections and Campaigns; Political Parties and Interest Groups; State and Local Politics; or Public Opinion and Mass Media. Candidates with the ability to offer courses in the subfields of Public Administration and/or Public Policy are especially encouraged to apply.

Candidates should have an interest in joining an undergraduate department where teaching in a small classroom environment is emphasized. The normal teaching load is 4 courses per semester.
