Paul "PK" Klenowski, Instructor of Criminal Justice Studies, is the newest edition to Thiel’s sociology department. He will be teaching and establishing our newly revised Criminal Justice Studies major.

PK comes to us from the Indiana University of PA where is currently finishing his doctorate in Criminology. PK’s areas of specialty and research include: white collar crime, corporate misconduct, identity theft detection and prevention, restorative justice, ethical and philosophical issues in criminal justice, qualitative research methods and victimology. PK received his BA in criminal justice at Wheeling Jesuit University with minors in environmental science and philosophy. He also received his MBA with a specialization in corporate ethics from Wheeling Jesuit University.

PK has taught at seven different colleges and universities throughout Pennsylvania and West Virginia over the past five years. He also worked for the National White Collar Crime Center based in Fairmont, WV as a research/investigative associate. The Center was a joint partnership between the FBI and the Bureau of Justice Assistance. PK’s duties included conducting original research and analysis for special agents from various federal agencies and state and local law enforcement officers who were tracking known white collar offenders.

PK currently stays active in the investigative field as an expert witness in both civil and criminal cases on the state and federal levels. He also works pro bono for the Identity Theft Resource Center based in San Diego, CA as a regional victim advocate working hand in hand with victims to help restore their identities. PK is also currently an assistant editor for Sage Inc.’s Prison Journal.

In his spare time, PK enjoys traveling to spend time with family and friends, reading, weight lifting, running, hiking, whitewater rafting, playing basketball and practicing judo.
