Professor Walton joined the Sociology Department in 2005. She currently has a joint appointment in Sociology and Political Science. Professor Walton obtained her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1999. She received a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences from James Madison University in 1996, with concentrations in sociology and political science. Professor Walton also holds an education certification in Pennsylvania, which she obtained from Slippery Rock University.

Her classes at Thiel include Criminal Justice, Family Justice, Criminal Procedure, Criminal Law, Legal Studies, and Constitutional Law. Professor Walton's current research interests include equal protection, justice in the law and society, judicial selection and ethical issues in criminal justice.

In addition to teaching at Thiel, Professor Walton practices with the Wallace Law Firm, located in Greenville. When she isn't working, she enjoys reading, cooking, hiking, and spending time with her family.
