Wind tunnel Optical and radio telescopes Physics plays a very important part in the preparation for a career in the natural and engineering sciences. Physicists work as teachers, in research both in private companies and for the government, along with engineers in manufacturing and industrial production. They were instrumental in the development of semiconductors, lasers, alternative (green) energies, novel materials, nanotechnology etc. B.S. degree in Applied Physics The curriculum in physics has been drawn up with the following objectives: to provide students with a variety of courses upon which to build a sound foundation for future studies; to contribute to students' comprehension of related disciplines; and to help prepare students for employment and/or graduate school. How is your physics knowledge? Find out by going to Faculty - Dr. Hecking - and look at the equations on the board. One is wrong. Which one and why? If you know the answer, you are a smart person and we'll want you as a physics or engineering student. If you don't know, don't worry, we'll teach you, guaranteed. |
