The
Web Development major is designed for students interested
in the technical aspects of Internet and web technologies.
The curriculum is focused on computer science and information
system courses (such as web design, web programming, and
computer network security) with additional emphasis on
business fundamentals. The primary goal of the program
is to provide students with a solid background in web technologies
and related business goals, in order to prepare students
for employment in the web development industry. Emphasis
will be placed on development of problem-solving skills
and issues surrounding the development of E-Commerce web
applications. The capstone course of the program will be
the Professional Web Portfolio course, which will focus
on team-based project development and allow students to
build working projects that they can compile into a portfolio
of work suitable to present to potential employers.
In addition to the Web Development major for the Bachelor degree (details below), there is also a Web Development Associate of Science degree.
