Previous Program Requirements:

Major Requirements (For students who started before the Fall 2007)
History majors must successfully complete 36 credit hours in history, which must be distributed as outlined below.

• Complete both US survey courses
• HIST 101: United States History Until 1877
• HIST 102: United States History Since 1877
• 12 credit hours in United States History at 200-400 Level
• 12 credit hours in European / World History at 200-400 Level
• 6 credit hours of history electives
• During the junior or senior year each major must attend or participate in two departmentally approved, off-campus field experiences (internship, historic site or museum visit, professional conference, etc.)
