    About the Business Administration Major

    Thiel College’s Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Business Administration degree in a variety of specialty business tracks: advertising and marketing, finance, general, human resources management, sports management and supply chain management. The Business Administration major provides students with experiential-focused coursework that builds their skillset in preparation for launching their careers or entering graduate school.

    Led by a team of experienced faculty, business administration majors have hands-on opportunities working with local businesses in western Pennsylvania to enhance their classroom experiences.

    Business Administration Major Objectives

    The goals of Thiel’s Bachelor of Arts in business administration degree are for students to:

    1. Understand the basic business management functions.
    2. Develop competency in data analysis techniques and databases.
    3. Gain an understanding of the ethical dilemmas faced by business managers.
    4. Develop interpersonal skills and learn to be a valuable member of a team.
    5. Be prepared for entry-level employment in the field of business.

    Business Administration Curriculum

    The curriculum for our business administration bachelor’s degree provides a broad understanding of the American business system and establishes a base for good citizenship in our democratic society.

    Our business courses teach basic business principles and fundamental skills essential for success in either a large or small enterprise. More specifically, the core courses of the business administration major include accounting, economics, data analysis and management, business law and management. Review the Academic Catalog (2023-2024) for business course listings and descriptions.

    Students interested in entrepreneurship can also apply to join the Haller Enterprise Institute cohort.

    Program Tracks

    Thiel offers the opportunity for business administration students to specialize their degree, tailoring it to the personal and professional interests through the selection of one of the following program tracks:

    Fifth Year MBA

    Business administration students have the opportunity to expand their career opportunities and elevate their future earning potential through Thiel’s accelerated five year MBA program.

    Cooperative Programs

    Thiel also offers three cooperative programs that allow students to earn their bachelor’s degree in business administration alongside career-specific courses from a neighboring institution in western Pennsylvania. The two cooperative programs offered are:

    • B.A. in Business Administration with a Mortuary Diploma
    • B.A. in Business Administration with a certificate in Culinary Arts

    Haller Enterprise Institute

    Business administration students also have the opportunity to earn scholarships from Thiel’s Haller Enterprise Institute, an initiative that provides an intensive, high-quality education for a select cohort of students with entrepreneurial career goals.
