Major Requirements

The business administration–culinary management program is designed for students interested in entering the business management and ownership angle of the culinary management, food service and hospitality industries. If you are interested in opening your own restaurant, you will need the appropriate business skills to do so. Our program will provide you with the fundamentals essential to running your own business.

Under a cooperative program between Thiel and The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, students will take part in a "2-1-1" course load. Participants in the program will be enrolled for two full years in Thiel's business administration program, one year in The Art Institute of Pittsburgh's culinary program and conclude their final year at Thiel.

While at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, in addition to feeding students’ passion for their careers, and love of cooking, the culinary management program recognizes the need for a well-rounded management-based education which will not only afford students excellent culinary skills, but also the necessary management skills set necessary to train and lead teams of employees.

Graduates of the program will earn a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Thiel with a certificate in culinary management from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
