February 6, 2008 Tom Lindsey '72, speaker VP & Chief Accounting Officer, Convansys Corporation Former Controller, MA Hanna Company "Tom Lindsey was a great speaker being that he talked about many things we have not heard.  The other speakers talked about the good things, how they have done well.  Tom talked about the other side where things went badly but he fought through them and made the best out of what he could.  He told us about the hours he worked while other speakers talked about things to make everything look easy." ~ Gregory Congrove "Upon graduation from Thiel, Tom Lindsey became employed with Ernst & Young as an accountant becoming a senior manager.  After 15 years with the company, he left public accounting and worked for MA Hanna as it was in its transformation from a mining company to a chemical based company.  He did many things within the company such as investor relations, accounting and human resources up until the time the company was sold.  He then commuted to Detroit working for a 450 million dollar information technology company." ~ Jennifer Peterson "I Asked Mr. Lindsey, 'How relevant do you think corporate white collar crime is in the business world today and what should you do if you are caught up in that situation?'  He stated that there are two options, first is to be the so-called 'whistle blower' and tell the authorities about the violation or leave the company." ~ Cory Lamison "The question I asked was how he handled the home life and work balance?  He replied to make a conscious decision to make family number one especially if you have children." ~ Ryan Jordan "Lessons learned: 1.  Be brutally honest. 2.  Maintain ethical views. 3.  Have integrity." ~ Kenneth Dorman
