Saundra Cotterman Parker '81, speaker

VP, PNC Bank

"All I can say is WOW! I thought Mrs. Parker was the greatest speaker yet. Saundra was just truly inspiring and every word she spoke was of great interest and encouragement."
- Shannon Popp, senior accounting & business administration major

"Saundra Cotterman Parker is a 1981 Thiel graduate. In 1979 she was hired as a teller at PNC bank and has been with them ever since. Of course she is not just a teller anymore. She has been moved up to every position available. She is currently the vice president and Crawford County Area manager. She manages 7 different branches and has received every kind of award PNC has."
- Laura Simonetti, senior business administration major

"Probably the most useful thing that I pulled from her speech was her persistence in making things happen. When she needed to get something accomplished, she didn't let anything, not even a debilitating disease, stop her. She didn't let the laziness of others stop her from getting things accomplished. She is very resourceful and persuasive."
- Timothy Holland, senior accounting & business administration

"Lessons learned were: 1)Always find value and satisfaction in what you do. 2) There are 2 roads to success, the short road and the long road. 3) Always give credit to the group. 4) When you are a manager the people you manage do not work for you, they work with you."
- Matt Rowlands, senior accounting and business administration major

"A great point made was that you can learn more from a bad manager than you can from a good one. This idea had never crossed my mind. I always felt that in order to become better you should have role models that are positive. Saundra took the opposite stance, and I believe now that she is right. She said that by watching a bad manager, an individual can see everything they are doing wrong and then once they are in a managerial position, they can make the necessary changes."
- Eric Hauser, senior accounting & business administration
