Interviewing - Bill King and Richard Simpkins '68

March 13, 2013

"William King came o give a speech called 'Acing the Interview.'  The whole point of the seminar was to give us helpful tips and suggestions about how to act and what to do in an interview.  It was a very informative seminar."
~ Taylor Morrison

"A topic we touched on was 'score cards.' With a score card, one side lists the job requirements, and the other lists your qualifications.  So when you go into the interview, you will know why you meet every requirement and will not have to think about it."

~ Matthew May

"Be respectful to everyone in the office when arriving for the interview because everyone is evaluating you.The goal of the first interview is to get that second interview."

~ Jesse Clayton

"Mr. King closed by telling us the Wizard of Oz analogy.  He said we need intelligence like the scarecrow, passion like the tin man, and courage like the lion.  Then like Dorothy, we need to remember that we are in control of our own destiny and like the Wizard, we are to 'ignore the man behind the curtain.'"

~ Samantha Lane
