David S. Demi '74, speaker

Director, Eastern Wholesale Team, Sara Lee US Foods

"I enjoyed having Dave Demi speak to the Business Honors Seminar class on March 22. He was a very dynamic and down to earth person. Dave was a 1974 graduate of Thiel College and moved into his first management job in his mid twenties. Ever since then he has loved working in the food industry and is currently the Team Leader for SaraLee foods."
- Eric Reiter, junior business administration major

"Some of the lessons I learned were: it is okay to move around; follow every opportunity given you; have fun at work; when put in a position of managing your elders, take good care of them and earn their respect; when hiring, extra curricular activities and a desire to achieve are a must; and find a mentor who you can honestly and without criticism ask questions of in times of need or confusion."
- Megan Souders, junior business communications major

"I think Dave Demi was a tremendous speaker and really had our futures in mind. He really showed this through the extra materials he brought, such as applications and extra information on Sara Lee Company."
- Jillian Templin, senior business administration major

"In my opinion, the most powerful idea that I retained from him was that he started, right out of college, at a job he enjoyed. Even though he was on the bottom rung of the corporate ladder at a Fortune 500 company, he didn't go back to school. He worked hard at his job, got the promotions as they presented themselves and ultimately worked his way up to number nine from the top!"
- Timothy Holland, senior accounting & business administration major

"Lessons learned were: surround yourself with good people; do what you love to do; treat people with respect; and make your mark."
- Justin Ramer, senior accounting & business administration major
