Cara Hoehn '92, speakerProject Manager, Mellon Bank
"While attending dinner, I asked Cara about her international affairs and endeavors. We chatted for a bit about my trip to Europe that I will be taking after graduation, especially because she has done a lot of work involving the foreign exchange market. I asked her for some advice while traveling abroad with the American dollar being weak against the Euro and British pound. She told me a lot of stuff that I am learning right now in International Accounting, but I was very grateful because it let me know that the information I am receiving in my classes really is valuable and really can be used in the real world."~ Hayley Deems
"Dr. Cara Hoehn is a Thiel graduate who when she graduated had no idea what she wanted to do for a career. Per a suggestion from a relative to join a temp service and tryout a few jobs, she began to work for Mellon Bank in financial services. Cara swore she would never be at Mellon for 5 years. Now, after being at The Bank of New York/Mellon (since merger) for 15 years, she absolutely loves her job. Cara continued her education to achieve her doctorate at Robert Morris University, while working full-time."

"Dr. Cara Hoehn is a lovely, intelligent speaker who did an excellent job expressing how she manages her life at Mellon Bank. Some lessons learned were:
1. Look at the glass as if it was half full.
2. Always push yourself.
3. Take advantage of what you have."
~ David Dix
"She advised us: don't get too comfortable, always spread your wings, and don't be afraid to ask. Life is a journey, stay optimistic!"
~ Allison Illar
"Cara said, 'Reflect on what you are good at, what you want to do, where you want to go, and what you want in your life.' I feel like this is a good quote to live by. It helps keep your life organized."
