Brian Governor '89, speaker
President, P&W Marketing Inc."Brian Governor came to Thiel College for wrestling and fun, but left with a great experience and a degree in Political Science. Brian ended up working for his father's printing company, which he loved. When his father passed away, he was thrown into 'the big chair' of the company - because he only took one business course while at Thiel, he had a lot to learn in a short amount of time. Over the next 12 years Brian made improvements that kept the company up to date. He advertised through television commercials and he kept up on technology, so when it came time to sell P&W Marketing the company was worth more."

"It was hard to take over the business that his dad had made and he didn't really know anything because he did not major or minor in business or accounting. It made me think that you need dedication to make it in the long run. I was really impressed."
~ Andy Thierman
"Lessons Learned:
1. People still want to do business with people, even though this is the age of the internet.
2. Give back to the community because it helps create relationships.
3. Honesty is key. We have heard this from several of the speakers so far.
4. The only heartbeat you are guaranteed is the one you just had."
~ Bryan Downs
"Brian mentioned that we need to strive to learn the most we can, go into the world honestly and to enjoy life. He gave us many good points to go on and he was very enjoyable to listen to."
~ Justin Ehrman
"Not only did Brian put time into his company, he also gave back to the community and industry. He was a part of organizations like his rotary club and the chamber of commerce. He also won 2 awards in his industry including best business owner under 40."
