Thiel College is a liberal arts, sciences and professional studies baccalaureate degree-granting college located on a beautiful 135-acre, tree-lined campus in the heart of western Pennsylvania’s hill country. The College is only a 90-minute drive from Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Erie—close enough for ready access to “big city” culture, yet distant enough to be safe and free from distractions.
Thiel is dedicated to helping you discover and develop your gifts and abilities in order to achieve your dreams. It’s a place where professors are highly accessible and involved in your growth and learning, not only because of our low student-to-faculty ratio, but because they really care. Our small size makes it possible for you to stand out—both in and out of class. You can become a leader of one—or more—of our 19 intercollegiate sports teams or more than 50 organizations, clubs and honor societies.
Thiel is committed to the integration of technology in the learning environment, as evidenced by our technology-enhanced smart classrooms and facilities and wireless computing throughout the campus. We also provide notebook computers—through the ThinkPad University program—to every student.
Thiel is a place where your mind, body and spirit can grow and develop. |

Along with our strong academics, Thiel provides a fitness center that offers strength training machines, cardiovascular equipment and aerobics space. Alumni Stadium, our multi-sport complex, is where our student athletes compete—on high-quality synthetic turf—while the entire community cheers them on. Student residences vary from traditional dorms to apartment buildings that allow for transitional living. The Howard Miller Student Center features a beautiful rotunda with a cafe snack bar, the campus bookstore, post office, art gallery and various student services offices, including the campus pastor.
In 2006, Thiel’s first freestanding worship space, the David Johnson Memorial Chapel, was dedicated. In 2007, new baseball and softball fields at TomCat Park were finished, and the state-of-the-art William A. Robinson Theater as well as new chemistry and neuroscience labs were dedicated. Also, the Center for Learning and Advising opened, funded through a federal Title III grant, providing academic and career guidance to all students.
We invite you to visit Thiel and experience our commitment to helping you explore your gifts and abilities and reach your dreams.
