About Thiel > Board Members > Board of Associates

The Board of Associates is a group of 20 to 30 alumni and non-alumni friends largely from this region, who meet two to three times per year on the Thiel campus. They serve in an advisory capacity to the administration, including topics on academics, student & religious life, enrollment management, finance, buildings & grounds, and advancement. Meetings have both preceded and followed meetings of the Board of Trustees on the academic year calendar.
Desired background of members includes the following: business, professional, political and community leaders, foundation officers, select former members of the Board of Trustees, one or two sitting members of the trustees, the chief advancement officer and the president.
The primary purpose of the Board is to:
- Broaden constituent involvement in the life of the College;
- Offer advice and counsel relative to the ongoing development and implementation of forward planning;
- Assess the public perception(s) of the image of Thiel in its primary and secondary recruiting markets;
- Identify new friends capable of supporting the College;
- Nurture and orient future members of the Board of Trustees;
- Develop ambassadors/spokespersons for the College; and
- Help to influence students as they become tomorrow’s leaders
