Thiel College will celebrate its 140th Commencement on Sunday, May 4, 2014.

9:45 a.m. Call to Worship (Ringing of the College Bell)
10 a.m. Baccalaureate Service, David Johnson Memorial Chapel
11:15 a.m. Dedication — Class of '14 Tree, Brother Martin's Walk
11:15 - 11:45 a.m. Hospitality (Platform Party Check-in), Friends of Art Gallery, HMSC
11:45 a.m. President's Luncheon (Platform Party, Trustees and Special Guests)
Sawhill-Georgian Room, HMSC
  Gala Luncheon (For Graduates and Guests — Reservations Required)
Dining Hall, HMSC
1 p.m. Graduate Robing, Rissell-Beeghly Gymnasia
  Faculty Robing, Greenville Hall
  Platform Party Robing and Photographs, Friends of Art Gallery, HMSC
2 p.m. Commencement Exercises, Passavant Center

Important Dates for Graduating Seniors and Parents

March 31

  • Commencement Caps, Gowns and Hoods may be purchased at the Bookstore during regular store hours. All sizes are not guaranteed to be in stock after April 20.

April 11

  • Baccalaureate and Commencement RSVP cards are due to the Office of Special Events. Gala Luncheon RSVP cards are due to the Office of Special Events. Each graduate receives one complimentary ticket to the luncheon. Additional Gala Luncheon tickets can be purchased by your graduate from the AVI office. Please make checks payable to Thiel College. Tickets are $16.50 per person ($7.75 for children 5-10; 4 and under free). Seating is limited and reservations are required.

April 27

  • Commencement Rehearsal at 6 p.m. in Passavant Center. Seniors are required to attend. Important information, final instructions and seating assignments will be provided.

May 1

  • HMSC Dining Area closes at 7 p.m.

Parking

Students should park their cars in the normally assigned areas to provide ample guest parking. Do not park in the HMSC, Roth Hall or Greenville Hall parking lots.

Graduation News Release

A list of all graduating seniors will be sent to local hometown newspapers and posted on the Thiel College website following the ceremony. If you do not wish for your information to be included, call 724-589-2700 or email jmuller@thiel.edu by April 25.
