MILLER COMPETES AT DIVISION III NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Freshman 125-pound Rob Miller competed at the 2008 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships, which were held at U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Coe College, Cornell College, and the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference served as hosts for the event. more

MILLER ADVANCES TO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS AS WILD CARD, TOMCATS PLACE SIXTH AT MIDWEST REGIONALS
The Tomcat wrestling squad finished sixth (of 12) with 84.0 team points at Saturday's 2008 NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Qualifier, hosted by Wabash College. Headlining Thiel's seven place winners, the most in head coach Craig Thurber's five-year career, was freshman 125-pound Rob Miller, who wrestled to a true second place finish with a 4-1 overall record. Miller was picked as one of five wild card selections out of the Midwest regional. more

Baldwin-Wallace College handed the Tomcats a 27-9 dual meet loss Saturday evening in Berea, Ohio. The Yellow Jackets returned the favor against the Tomcats as Thiel posted a 30-9 victory over Baldwin-Wallace on Dec. 8 in Greenville. more

The Tomcat wrestling squad bounced back from an 0-2 start on Friday to finish with a 2-2 mark at Lycoming College's Budd Whitehill Duals. The event featured a 20-team pool that included ten of the top 30 squads in NCAA Division III, according to the latest Brute/Adidas NWCA Poll. more

WRESTLERS CELEBRATE 50TH ANNIVERSARY WITH 30-9 WIN OVER BALDWIN-WALLACE
The wrestling program celebrated its 50th year anniversary Saturday evening by posting a 30-9 non-conference dual meet victory over visiting Baldwin-Wallace College at Beeghly Gymnasium. A number of past Tomcat greats returns to take part in the festivities, which were kicked off by a motivating speech by Kurt Angle, 1996 Olympic gold medalist and two-time NCAA Division I champion at Clarion University. more

The wrestling squad saw its lead over Washington & Jefferson College shrink to just three, 15-12, after the 174-pound match, but the Tomcats responded by winning the final three matches en route to a 24-14 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) dual meet win over the Presidents Friday night at Beeghly Gymnasium. more

THIEL SET TO RECOGNIZE 50TH YEAR WRESTLING ANNIVERSARY SATURDAY
The Tomcat wrestling program and head coach Craig Thurber will be recognizing its 50th year anniversary Saturday evening when it hosts Baldwin-Wallace College at Beeghly Gymnasium for a dual meet set to get underway at 6 p.m. On hand to take part in the celebration will be Kurt Angle, Olympic gold medalist and former two-time national champion at Clarion University. more

Freshman Rob Miller earned Most Outstanding Wrestler honors at Saturday’s Rochester Institute of Technology (R.I.T.) Invitational. Miller went 4-0 on the day at 125 pounds and helped the Tomcats wrestle to a ninth-place finish (67.5 points). more
