The Thiel Choir is the main performing choir of the College. It tours annually during spring break to all regions of the eastern United States and Canada. Once every four years, the choir makes an international tour. The choir performs at Thiel convocations, at area churches, sings at the Thiel Christmas Festival and joins with area community singers each spring to perform oratorios, cantatas or other larger choral works.
Membership is open to Thiel students and selected Thiel High School Scholars through an audition process at the beginning of each semester. Contact Dr. Michael Bray for more information.
Most recently, the Thiel Choir toured to Scandinavia and St. Petersburg, Russia in 2004 and to Austria and northern Italy in 2008. In May 2012, the choir will embark on an extended 20 day Western States tour performing nine concerts. They will be visiting Ohio, Illinois, Minnesota, South Dakota, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and Oregon. The tour repertoire will include works which celebrate life on the prairies, with a Native American focus.
